Palm Oil

Palm oil is the world's most consumed vegetable oil with ~80 MMT global production, dominated >85% by Indonesia and Malaysia. Highest yield per hectare of any oil crop (3.5x soybean, 5x rapeseed). Tree crop with 25-year productive lifespan. Critical biofuel and food-system role. EUDR Dec 30, 2026 enforcement is the dominant 2026 story alongside RSPO certification dynamics. Palm-soy oil spread is a key cross-elasticity signal. India is largest single importer; EU declining due to sustainability regulations.
