Soybeans

Soybeans are the world's largest oilseed crop with ~400 MMT production and $180B+ market value. Brazil (39-41%), USA (28-30%), and Argentina (12-13%) form the dominant trio - South America together produces more than the USA. China imports 75-80% of all globally-traded soybeans (100-110 MMT/year). Crushed primarily into soybean meal (79% by value) and soybean oil. EUDR Dec 30, 2026 applies to soybeans, with Brazilian Cerrado and Argentine production under deforestation review. Renewable diesel boom in USA structurally lifts soy oil demand. Crush economics drive both meal and oil markets.
